This page
gives information, details, dimensions and prices in £ and $ of
the Lenham Pottery Models one-twelfth scale Clydesale Horse.

The price
of the 1/12th scale Clydesdale, SOLD WITHOUT HARNESS, is £166, which
includes packing and delivery by Royal Mail special delivery service (insured
- requires signature on arrival). The price to the USA by 'Air International
Signed For', insured delivery, is $329.
See Contact and Terms
for details of payment arrangements.
The Clydesdales were always lighter boned than the placid Shires, and
needed more careful attention when working in busy traffic but they had
the advantage of speedier action. This comes from the high withers and
sloping shoulders which allow the front feet to be placed well forward
of the chest, with a good drive from the well-muscled hind quarters. The
colours are bay, brown and black. Greys are also shown. The favoured colour
was dark brown (with no black on mane or tail), and with more white than
the Shires on face and legs. This model is in a striding position, in
chain traces as the leader of a team. Note the quarter straps which keep
the chains clear of the hocks. The traces would be hooked onto the shafts
of a cart or swingle-trees for a two horse team, one in front of the other.
It is 6 inches
to the withers, (18 hands at twelfth scale). Allow 3 inches between shafts.
